“While Donald Trump, sadly, continues to falsely claim that the election was rigged and cause an even more frightening division in this country. As the sun “legitimately” sets on his presidency, I want people to know that I never hated him. Hate can consume us and prevent us from growing spiritually.
I also never hated any of his supporters, even the non-mask wearing ones or the potential racists. I simply dislike Trump, immensely, for who he is and all of his harmful lying. But now it’s time to move forward and time to heal.
I’m not sure what the future holds for us as a country or as a people. It’s not going to be easy to unite and mend our differences, especially considering how the media also divides us and sensationalizes everything. But I have seen miracles happen in my chosen field of mental health and addiction.
It’s the struggles I’ve seen people face and overcome that gives me hope that we can indeed become more united and someday mend our differences.
And even though none of us may know what the future holds, I will never give up hope that the saying ‘love conquers all’ will someday ring true.”
